The Spiral explores the way life returns us to familiar places, roles, and emotions, but never in quite the same way. What first appears as a circle begins to reveal itself as a spiral......returning, yet changed through time, memory, and experience. This painting reflects my experience of becoming a grandmother; revisiting the tenderness, wonder, and emotional depth of early motherhood from an entirely new perspective. The beginning and end meet again, softened by wisdom, loss, love, and the passage of time. Layers of circular movement and shifting forms suggest the evolving nature of life itself..... repeating patterns that carry us forward even as they bring us home. Part of the Full Circle collection.
